Data Deletion Instructions – U.S. Version
Last updated: April 18, 2025
1. Purpose of This Page
Under U.S. privacy laws—such as the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), and similar state statutes—you have the right to request deletion of personal information that Ligiga LLC ("Gargantua," "we," "us") maintains about you. This page explains exactly how to exercise that right, including special steps for information collected through Meta (Facebook) integrations.
2. Who May Submit a Deletion Request
Requester | Requirements |
---|---|
Data Subject (You) | Provide sufficient information for us to verify your identity (§ 4.2). |
Authorized Agent | Provide (i) written permission signed by the data subject or power of attorney, and (ii) proof of your own identity. |
Parent / Guardian | If the data subject is under 18, supply documentation establishing guardianship. |
3. What Can Be Deleted
- Account profile data (name, email, phone, company)
- Marketing preferences and analytics IDs
- Content you uploaded (files, code, images, messages)
- Event data sent to Meta Pixel or Conversions API that is stored in our systems
Exceptions (we must retain):
- Records needed to comply with federal or state law (tax, bookkeeping)
- Security logs required to prevent fraud or abuse
- Backups that will be purged on the next scheduled cycle (≤ 90 days)
4. How to Request Deletion
4.1 Self‑Service (If You Have an Account)
- Log in to your Gargantua dashboard.
- Navigate to Settings › Privacy.
- Click "Delete My Data" and follow the prompts.
4.2 E‑Mail Request (Most Common)
Send an email to gargantua@gargantuatechnologies.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request – [Your Name]".
Include:
- Full legal name
- Email address and/or phone number used with Gargantua
- Description of the data you want deleted (e.g., "all personal info," "project files only")
We will reply asking you to verify the request by either:
- Clicking a secure link we send to the email on record, or
- Providing two verifiable pieces of information (e.g., invoice number + last 4 digits of phone).
4.3 Meta / Facebook–Specific Deletion
If your data was submitted via a Facebook lead form or sent through Meta Pixel/Conversions API:
- Follow one of the methods above and specify "Facebook Data" in the description.
- Alternatively, visit your Facebook account "Apps and Websites" settings, locate "Gargantua Technologies," and select "Remove." This triggers a system notice to us and starts the deletion timer.
5. Verification & Response Timeline
Step | Timing |
---|---|
Acknowledgment of request | Within 10 business days |
Identity verification | Promptly after we send verification instructions |
Completion or justified denial | Within 30 calendar days of verification* |
Extension (if reasonably necessary) | + 30 days (max) — we will notify you in writing |
6. What Happens After Deletion
- Active databases: Data is removed or anonymized immediately.
- Backups: Data becomes inaccessible and is overwritten during the next retention cycle (≤ 90 days).
- Third‑party systems: We send deletion or anonymization requests to integrated subprocessors (e.g., AWS, SendGrid, Stripe).
- Confirmation: You will receive a final email summarizing the actions taken and the date of completion.
7. Denials or Partial Fulfillment
We may deny or partially fulfill a request when deletion is not feasible or legally permitted, such as when data is required to:
- Complete a transaction or provide a service you requested.
- Detect security incidents or protect against malicious activity.
- Comply with federal, state, or local laws, court orders, or subpoenas.
- Exercise or defend legal claims.
If we cannot honor the request in full, we will explain precisely why.
